Celebrate theses great pink birds at Flamingo Fest at Flamingo Gardens! Artists from ArtsUnited will participate in plein air art throughout the Gardens. Children and adults alike will form their own flamboyance and strut through the Gardens to a live Junkanoo Band while wearing their Flamingo Best. Guests will be invited to vote for their favorite outfits/costumes. Prizes will be awarded for best Adult (18+) and Child (17 & under) Flamingo-wear.
Flamingo Fest weekend will feature art vendors, music, live painting, flamingo talks, food and more. The centerpiece of Flamingo Fest is the Fabulous Flamingo-wear Contest, a flamboyance of guest flamingos all wearing their own creations. Contest entry is free, no registration is required. While visiting, guests may also view “A Disappearing Landscape; Art of the Highwaymen” exhibit on display in the Gallery through February 23.

Saturday, February 8th only:
Dr Renee Mills, daughter of the only female Highwaymen artist, Mary Ann Carroll, along with Tony Hayton, Exhibit Director, will be on hand to share memories and vignettes of various Highwaymen adventures, and what it was like growing up in the world of “Highwaymen”. Talks in the Gallery at 12 and 2pm. Vernon Tynes Jr., the Artist behind the 26 exquisite Highwaymen portraits (and nephew of Highwaymen painter James Gibson) will also be on hand to speak with guests and will have original art for sale.
Additionally, some of the paintings in the exhibit will be marked down in price.

- Flamingo Gardens members and children 2 or younger are admitted free.
Flamingo Gardens is located at 3750 South Flamingo Road in Davie, FL 33330. Narrated tram tour, Wray Home Museum, Wildlife Encounter Show, Wildlife Specialist Talks, Butterfly Conservatory, and Gallery exhibits are included in admission.
