Masters of the Night

September 16th, 2023 - January 28th, 2024
9:30am - 4:30pm

Masters of the Night – The True Story of Bats:  Often misunderstood as large, blind, squeaky, creatures who suck blood and get tangled in your hair, this exhibit debunks the myths, and opens your eyes to the wonderous world of Bats.  Learn about how gentle bats really are and their many benefits to the environment through lifelike models, multisensory interactive displays and environmentally realistic settings.

Guests will enter Masters of the Night through a Gothic castle to set the scene for an up-close look at these small, gentle mammals and walk through centuries of mythic representations of bats in different cultures.  Multimedia elements will introduce visitors to the real and diverse world of bats, their benefits, skills and abilities.  Try matching types of bats with the foods they eat, find where bats are located world-wide or put on a pair of “bat ears” to experience the sensitivity of bat hearing, all in the Gallery at Flamingo Gardens.

Masters of the Night:  The True Story of Bats exhibit, specialty weekend programing, Wray Home Museum, Butterfly Conservatory, Animal Specialist Talks, Wildlife Encounter presentations and Narrated Tram Tour are included in admission price.  Tickets may be purchased online or on-site in the Welcome Center/Gift Shop.

Admission:

  • Flamingo Gardens members, SF Adventure Pass holders, and children 2 or younger are free.
