Thanks to early pioneers such as Floyd L and Jane Wray, Davie possesses one of the most distinctive equestrian cultures in South Florida, earning it a reputation as a “cowboy-meets-suburban” town. While much of the surrounding region has become densely urbanized, Davie has deliberately preserved a rural character rooted in agriculture, ranching, and horsemanship. Horses are not simply a recreational feature of the town; they are central to its landscape, daily life, and historical memory.
Visit the Wray Home Museum from February 14 – June 28, 2026, to help us commemorate Davie’s equestrian history. Entrance to the Wray Home Museum is included with your Admission to Flamingo Gardens.
