David Rogers Big Bugs – The Pollinators

A larger-than-life, interactive outdoor art experience is coming to Flamingo Gardens! David Rogers’ Big Bugs: The Pollinators showcases spectacular sculptures of insects and pollinators—created from natural and reclaimed forest materials—installed throughout the Gardens. These striking pieces highlight the vital role that bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, beetles, and other pollinators play in our ecosystems and food systems, making the invisible world of pollination visible and unforgettable.

This family-friendly exhibit blends art, nature, STEAM learning and conservation, encouraging exploration and wonder for visitors of all ages. Discover giant creations along garden paths and near favorite landscapes as you learn how these small creatures have a big impact on our world. Informative signage and engaging installations inspire curiosity and action to support pollinator habitats.

Exhibit Features:

  • Large-Scale Sculptures: Marvel at oversized works representing beneficial insects and pollinators, made from wood, branches and natural materials.
  • Educational Focus: Learn about the importance of pollination, the roles of different species, and why protecting pollinators is essential to healthy ecosystems.
  • Complete the Big Bug Scavenger Hunt: Kids can pick up a scavenger hunt sheet in the Gift Shop. Explore the exhibit, complete the hunt, and redeem for a cool prize at Guest Services! Starts June 12th!
  • Explore the Gardens: Sculptures are thoughtfully placed throughout the gardens to enhance your visit and invite discovery at every turn.

Admission:
• $24 for ages 12+,
• $17 for ages 3-11
• Members and children 2 or younger are admitted free.
